This originally started as a random sketch... that once I finally got that close-up hand right, began to consume my life. The sketch was too small to ink with my normal pens, so I broke out the digital ink. Erasing ink is so handy!
Anyway, fought with the colors for a little while... but I'm glad with how it turned out. I tried some new stuff here and there stylistically--her features are a little more pronounced, I did a field of focus thing, and I did some new stuff with her lips. I decided that for each character in Shishin, I wanted to exaggerate one feature more than anyone else. I decided for her, it was going to be her lips. The point of the picture is to capture her character... what do you think she might be like? EDIT: HOLY SHITE! I leave for Spring Break and come back to a DD? WHEEE! We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on.
